Just the kind of same old, same old has been going on here. The dogs and I have been out enjoying the last of this…..
walking and enjoying and breathing it all in…..
We are out in it every moment that we can be.
Have all your Mums and flowers succumbed to the freezing temperatures yet? I will confess that I have not given up yet. I have moved all into the garage on two occasions but the weatherman says that night time temperatures of 25 degrees are coming next week and I think that will be “it” for them. I can’t cart them in and out forever. I took this yesterday afternoon. It is still hanging in there.
It is past its’ prime but I hate to get rid of it!
The frost moon has arrived…..
The clouds had started to roll in by the time I took the second one.
Holiday plans are being made. Fall cleaning has begun. I always do my major cleaning during the fall and winter months because as soon as Spring is here, I am outside every chance I can get. Remodeling projects are being finished up. The gardens have been cleared. I thought I had everything put away but noticed last evening that I had forgotten the hose reel so will go back out tomorrow and put that away and see what else I may have overlooked.
As the temperatures drop and the winds have picked up and the rain has been coming down, I have started my nesting.
Vanessa has started nesting also. She has no shame–deconstructing the furniture or whatever she feels necessary for napping!
I recently went to my unfinished projects stash and retrieved an Autumn themed wool felt purse that has been languishing there for a long, long time….seven years!!!
Do any of you have one of those—an unfinished project stash? If I can remember back that long ago, I think it was so far past Autumn until it was nearing completion that I decided to wait until the season rolled around again to finish it. I also couldn’t understand how the pattern was instructing me to assemble it. Well, the embroidery work that was left took about fifteen minutes and I STILL did not understand how they were telling me to put all the pieces together so I just assembled it on my own and a whole 30 minutes later I was done. And then I thought to myself, “Why did you wait so long to finish this?”
Here it is….now complete with a few dog hairs. A few more weeks and I will have to put it away until next year. I found a Christmas wall hanging in my unfinished project stash that I am going to try to work on before Christmas. I am also making a few gifts. Presently, I am finishing a wool felt table runner that I picked up the pattern for at a Quilt Show several years ago. Until I finish it, it will be almost time to put it away.
One end of it is almost complete. Then I will need to put the mirror applique image on the other end and the backing on it.
That is all of my ramblings of nothingness for today.
