We are “in the thick of it” now…..Fall. The beauty of the colors this year is a sight to behold. I cannot remember the colors being this intense before. Is that just me or is it real? Pictures do not do it justice. Driving through it each day is a joy. Yesterday Frank and Vanessa and I took our daily walk but this time we went down the road behind our house. Then over the meadow…..
and along the woods……..
and up the gravel lane……….
to what is known in “these here parts” as the Lambright Cabin. I know that to all of you that live around here, this is old news but sometimes we forget about the treasures in our own backyard. I have been to dinners here, weddings, and graduation open houses. It is such a cozy place all tucked back in the woods. If you are needing a holiday retreat, maybe this is it!
That will conclude our tour of the grounds……smile.
Now off we go. Through the woods…..
and over the bridge…..
and the carpet of leaves.
Thanks for coming along on our walk. With 2 snooping dogs and trying to run the camera on my phone with one hand, this walk takes about 45 minutes out my door and back again.
Remember the treasures in your own backyard. You can rent the Lambright Cabin by calling Shore Mennonite Church @ 260-768-4240. As a disclaimer, this is NOT a paid endorsement. It was just a good day for a long walk. They don’t even know I was here yesterday on my walk until now…….Surprise!
It is suppose to be a beautiful week here in northeastern Indiana, perhaps our Indian Summer. Get outside and take a walk and enjoy the smells of nature as she begins her season of rest: cool crisp air, the musty smell of the drying leaves, people burning leaves and twigs.
