June 26, 2016
Today is the day that these guys have been waiting for since last fall. My husband, two of his brothers and a nephew are riding their bicycles 272 miles to Mio, MI. The rest of us will join them this weekend when we make the trip in 4 1/2 hours versus 4 days. They have been planning and training since last Fall.
From left to right: Parker (nephew), Matt (the baby brother, age 48), Mike (my husband, age 60), Todd (age 51 and father to Parker). There are two more brothers that are not along for the bike ride but will be joining us this weekend.
I can hardly wait to hear the stories. I am so excited for them and oh the memories that they are making!
This is my husband’s bike. They all pretty much look identical. All they are going to use for 4 days is packed in those bags on the back! They will share a motel room each night. Nobody is following them in a car or a motor home. They are on their own. ☺
Shirts were made for the trip.
A small group convened at 5:45 for prayer and a send-off.
And then they were mounting up!
And they are off on the trip of a lifetime! Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
This view from the lodge we will all be staying at for Family Vacay 2016 is the prize at the end of the ride.
